Converting Nike shoe sizes between US, UK, EU, and BR seems straightforward, but one detail causes plenty of mistakes: the CM/JP number on a Nike label does not necessarily equal your actual foot length in centimeters.
Nike distinguishes the physical measurement of your foot from the CM/JP size on the label. The columns below show:
- US: U.S. sizing;
- BR: sizing used by Nike Brazil;
- UK: United Kingdom sizing;
- EU: European sizing;
- CM/JP: the centimeter-based size shown on Nike’s international label or box;
- Foot length: the physical foot measurement used in Nike Brazil’s chart to determine a size.
Use the chart for the product’s category: men’s, women’s, unisex, or kids’. BR equivalents and foot measurements come from Nike Brazil’s size chart; UK, EU, and CM/JP equivalents come from the corresponding international guides.
Quick answer: how do Nike CM sizes differ from foot length?
They are not necessarily the same measurement.
For example, in men’s sizing:
- US Men 8.5;
- BR 40;
- UK 7.5;
- EU 42;
- Nike CM/JP: 26.5;
- foot length in Nike Brazil’s chart: 25.8 cm.
If you measured your foot with a ruler, use the Foot length column. Do not automatically look for that same number under CM/JP.

Nike women’s size chart: US, UK, EU, BR, CM/JP, and foot length
US Women uses a different scale from US Men. Seeing “US 9” without knowing whether the product uses men’s or women’s sizing can lead to buying the wrong size.

Nike Brazil kids’ size chart: US, BR, and foot length
Nike Brazil publishes its own kids’ chart. U.S. kids’ sizing includes C and Y designations, and not every intermediate size appears in the same way in the current international size chart. It would therefore be unreliable to invent UK and EU equivalents by applying a formula.

How to measure your feet for Nike’s size chart
An accurate measurement is more useful than trying to remember a conversion from another brand’s size.
Step 1: set up on a flat surface

Place a sheet of paper on a hard, flat surface against a wall, making sure it cannot slide. Stand with your heel against the wall and your weight distributed normally.
Step 2: mark the heel and longest toe

Mark the outermost point of your heel and the tip of the toe that extends farthest. Do not assume it is always your big toe.
Repeat with the other foot. A small difference between the two is common.
Step 3: measure the distance

Use a ruler or tape measure to measure the distance between the two points.
Use the larger of the two foot measurements when checking the “Foot length” column. If your measurement falls between sizes, Nike’s official advice is to choose the larger size.
Measure while wearing the type of socks you plan to wear with the shoes. For more consistent results, consider measuring at the end of the day, especially if your feet tend to swell after many hours standing.
Does Nike sizing change between models?
The official sizing scale stays the same, but the fit can change.
The last, width, upper material, padding, and intended sport all affect the feel.
After finding your size in the chart, also check the size-and-fit section on that specific model’s product page.
Example: Nike Air Force 1
Nike currently describes the men’s Air Force 1 ’07 as a shoe that runs large and recommends considering a half size down.
That does not change Nike’s size chart. Once you know your reference size, you can consider the AF1-specific recommendation. Check the guidance for the exact Air Force 1 version you plan to buy.
What about running shoes?
Running shoes can have their own fit recommendations, too. Check the chosen model’s page before applying advice intended for a different Nike shoe.
There is no universal rule that “Nike always runs small” or “Nike always runs large.”
For wide feet, should I simply go up a size?
Not necessarily.
Length and width are different measurements. Nike offers certain models in Wide and Extra Wide versions, with more room around the front of the shoe.
Sizing up to compensate for width may leave excessive length. When available, an appropriate width can be a better solution than a larger size.
Conversion example: what BR size is a men’s US 11?
In the current official chart:
- US Men 11;
- BR 43;
- UK 10;
- EU 45;
- CM/JP 29;
- foot length in Nike Brazil’s chart: 27.9 cm.
Before buying, confirm the SKU’s sizing category, its fit recommendation, and the seller’s exchange policy. Find more guidance on choosing sneakers in the 90sneakers Buying Guide.
